What Are The Benefits Of Exercise Beyond Keeping A Healthy Weight?

I’m a genetically light weight person, couldn’t gain weight if I tried. What benefits could I gain from regular exercise. Is the increase in lifespan through exercise solely due to the healthy weight, or does the exercise itself help. What other benefits are there.

Healthy Weight Gain & Exercise?

I’m a 19 year old female, only 5′2 & weigh around 108lbs. My doctor wants me to gain weight (up to 115), but I’m also on an exercise routine in order to build up my muscle strength & endurance. (I plan on attending a police academy in the near future & will need to be able to pass the physical parts of the test). All I seem to read online is “If you’re hungry, eat. If you’re not hungry, eat.” If I eat when I’m not hungry, it makes me sick. I’m taking a multi-vitamin everyday, but I don’t eat much & I’m afraid I’ll lose weight the more I exercise. Any ideas?

If You Don’t Exercise, But Maintain A Healthy Diet, Will You Gain Weight?

If you don’t exercise, but you still diet & eat healthy, will you gain weight, or will it remain the same?
Or, will you lose weight just by dieting?

Is A High Protein Diet With But No Exercise Good For A 13 Year Old Girl Trying To Gain Weight Or 2 Unhealthy?

im 13 years old & im kindof underweight(but dont look like it cuz of the extra skin from losing weight) im eating lots of chicken & turkey & im drinking protein shakes & eating high protein bars as well. im also getting my other food groups in 2 but im getting ALOT OF PROTEIN. im eating around 3000 calories a day of healthy foods but alot is protein but there is also a VERY BIG AMOUNT of carbs. i know muscle builders use these but they exercise & do strength training…im not exercising at all but im on a muscle builder’s diet. IS THAT JUST GONNA MAKE ME ?FAT OR WILL I STILL GAIN HEALTHY WEIGHT(even though im eating this much protein & carbs that a muscle builder takes but not exercising)
is there a way to prevent the weight from going 2 my stomach(mostly lower) without exercise? cuz thats where i tend to gain fat at.

Is This Enough Exercise, What Else Can I Do?

I’m sure this isnt enogh exercise to be as strong & fit as I want to be but here is my schedule so far, & I just started it.
I ride my bicyicle every day to work a total of 40 minutes vigerous bike riding. I do 50 situps at night & try & do curls with each arm with 30lbs on each arm. I do 20-40 each rep & usually only do 1 or 2 reps a night right now, then I plan to increase. Diet wise I dont eat fast food, drink little soda, & eat lots of meat & vegies. I take a cup of whey every day from GNC & take vitamin C,B6,Biotin,Calcium, & Ginsing. I also take two 1mg pills of Xanax a day, dont know if that effects muscle growth/fat loss much.
Now for body specs,26years old 6/8 255lbs with a large body frame. Decently in shape with my muscles but they are not as big as I want, also I got about 30 lbs I would like to turn into muscle.
Is this a good start & what are some things I can do to make myself more stronger?

Why Is It That When I Start An Exercise And Weight Loss Program I Put Weight On?

Even though my body is shaping up, my weight stays the same & the reason for the weight loss is to bring my blood pressure down & get off the pills. That is even after 6 weeks of being on the program.

Will Drinking Diet Soda, But Maintaining Your Regular Caloric Intake And Exercise Regimen Lead To Weight Gain?

I’m a healthy eater & I exercise regularly. However, I drink diet pop daily. However, it doesn’t make me consume any more calories than when I don’t. Studies say you are more likely to be obese if you drink diet soda. They say you’re more likely to consume more calories. But if you don’t consume more calories, then would the actual diet soda itself make you gain weight?

Is It Normal To Gain Weight Before Losing It With Exercise?

I have been working a night job which included a lot of physical exercise–stocking the shelves, running from one department of the store to another, etc. It’s my first job in two years–and in the two years I haven’t worked I gained a lot, & I mean A LOT, of weight. Strange thing is I am eating healthier, getting a lot of exercise, but have gained 5 pounds instead of lost weight. Is this just muscle mass or what? What are some things I can do to get the best results in losing a lot of weight?

I’m Trying To Gain Weight, And I Have A Trainer To Help Gain Muscle- Should I Exercise On Days I Don’t Train?

I’ve been extremely ill lately & I’m trying to recover- I lost 50 pounds & all of my muscle so now I’m dangerously underweight. The doctors have me on a 2500 calorie diet (which is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to achieve for me), & I’m working out with a trainer very lightly 3-4 times a week. Should I be exercising on the days that I don’t go to the trainer? Because I want to prevent weight gain in just my stomach…i want to gain it evenly all over. Or should I just stick to training on those days, will that be enough training to keep me toned & gain healthy weight back? Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on food too…i have a lot of food allergies (such as a dairy allergy & sensitivity to fats)…I know i should be getting a lot of protein, so i eat chicken breast, egg whites & turkey…and i eat a TON of bread. Will bread put on unhealthy weight?

Weight Gain Around My Tummy, Despite Regular Exercise, Controlled And Healthy (veg.) Eating. Stress-related?

I just turned 40, have a stressful executive job in financial services that was made more so until very recently by having a boss from hell, & am attending part-time graduate school. While my boss was around in my life, I was reduced to waking up nights with hot sweats & not sleeping well.
Despite all this, I exercise regularly (weights, cardio, & abs workouts). However, I have noticed a tendency for my tummy to bulge lately. I still wear pant size 34″, but my tummy’s grown rounder above the belt-line & sticks out when I sit. Plus, I have added 3 pounds of weight in the last one month.
I researched online, & found that increased cortisol secretion in the body would account for all three symptoms – insomnia, weight gain around the middle, & hot sweats.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with the weight gain around my tummy? I cannot possibly exercise more without being exhausted, & it is bothering me a lot. I am due for my annual physical soon.
